Miracles of Music

Miracles of Music

Zebra Entertainment introduces M.O.M. – Miracles Of Music – an NGO born from a love of music and the commitment to find ways to enhance learning for children, making it culturally relevant yet broadening horizons and giving opportunities for ‘real’ hands on learning. Our mission is to ensure that schools in Ghana embrace the need for music as an integral part of learning for students of all levels and grades.

We will do our utmost to provide the requisite materials, including trained facilitators and instruments of both local and foreign origin. This is with the aim of enriching interactive teaching methods and appealing to the different learning styles of Ghanaian students.

Hand a child a recorder or Ghanaian flute and let them experiment. From there they can naturally move to composition and performance. Sit them in front of a keyboard, teach the basics and you may well have a pianist with life long skills.

It has been proven that pupils who are exposed to and taught music have other essential skills enhanced as well as gaining the technical ability to play an instrument. Formal music teaching impacts various aspects of cognitive development, such as, memory, perception, and attention, auditory and visual processing. Mathematics and art are intrinsically linked to music as well as the ability to concentrate, apply logic, reason and problem solve. Teaching music also enhances reading skills. As the student preserves and perfects their craft they also become disciplined, a valuable quality that is essential on the path to achieving success.

As Plato once said…”Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” What if we could offer our children just an element of this to start with, their hearts and mind would embrace life in a way they may never have thought possible, advancing them beyond the norm.

Music can offer so much more, and we are determined to show how big of an impact it can have on a child’s life.
